About Samvera

Samvera is a sanctuary for renewing connection — to nature, to oneself, and to others.

In Icelandic, Samvera means "togetherness | companionship | shared presence."

Vision

Welcome - this is a special corner of the world located in the middle of the ocean. We hope it will inspire your imagination and unlock wonder. The Icelandic photographer Sigurgeir Sigurjónsson captures its essence perfectly…

Island and world, constantly changing and yet always the same, ungrateful and generous, isolated and open, strong and fragile — Iceland is, like all countries, made up of contradictions. And, in relation to the landscape, there is above all the feeling that man has not left too much of a mark, the fact that one can forget oneself without getting lost - a country inhuman without being hostile, a country which allows us to understand what Camus meant by the “tender indifference to the world.”

The Property

Samvera is envisioned as a serene sanctuary for restoration and deep connection, perfectly accommodating intimate gatherings of up to 8 individuals.

A Serene Sanctuary for Connection
Origins

The origins of the farm can be traced back hundreds of years, when Samvera was established as an Icelandic sheep farm, reflecting a rich heritage of sustainable agriculture and traditional pastoral practices.

Location

The farm is located on the stunning Snaefellsnes Peninsula, a 2.5 hour drive northwest of Reykjavik. The drive is a captivating experience in its own right, a crescendo of other-worldly views culminating in a sudden arrival.

Snaefellsnes is often called "Iceland in Miniature" because it features so many of the country's diverse landscapes—glaciers, lava fields, black sand beaches, waterfalls, and dramatic cliffs.
